Zoom tooth whitening is the fastest and most effective whitening treatment. It’s safe, affordable, and yields fantastic results. A dentist applies a bleaching gel to your teeth and shines a special light on them to activate the gel. The gel breaks down stains, leaving you with whiter teeth. The whole process takes about one hour to complete.
Your smile will look noticeably brighter after just one whitening procedure. However, you may need to have additional treatments if you want to achieve your desired results. Call our office today to schedule a consultation to find out if Zoom teeth whitening is right for you!
Many patients ask if it is safe to whiten their smile with Zoom, and the answer is yes! That is because the treatment contains ingredients that have been proven safe for cosmetic use. For example, hydrogen peroxide is a common whitening ingredient; however, it is unsafe to consume in large quantities or swallow the substance. Fortunately, these ingredients are only used on the teeth during the treatment process and do not enter the body in any way. The formula is completely safe for use on the teeth both during and after the procedure.
Additionally, the gum retractors used during the procedure are safe to use and will not cause damage to the mouth. Gum retractors are simply small plastic wedges that are placed between the teeth and gums to keep the cheeks open for safe and easy application of the whitening gel. Once the whitening application is complete, the retractor is removed. Whitening trays were typically filled with whitening gel and then placed over the teeth for hours at a time. This caused irritation to the gums.
More importantly, the Zoom system does not require extended periods of exposure to the whitening gel to achieve results. Instead, it is filled with a low concentration of whitening gel for minimal exposure. In addition, the thin coating of whitening gel allows the mouth to remain oxygenated, which helps to ensure that the treated teeth are healthy following the procedure.
If you are healthy with minor discoloration of the teeth, you are likely a good candidate for this whitening procedure. However, patients who suffer from severe tooth sensitivity or worn enamel may not be candidates for this procedure. During your consultation, Dr. Soto will examine your teeth and determine if Zoom teeth whitening is right for you. For patients who are not ideal candidates, we offer other cosmetic treatments that can improve the appearance of your smile.
